Mount Mercy ends Coe's 3-game win streak in men's hoops

Chad Underwood led five Mount Mercy players in double figures as 18th-ranked Mount Mercy won its seventh straight game and snapped Coe’s three-game winning streak with a 79-59 victory Saturday at Hennessey Recreation Center.

Alex Coleman and Tyler Poldervaart scored 13, Lamar Wall scored 12, Rashad Carrington added 11 and LaDon Singleton grabbed 10 rebounds for the 8-1 Mustangs.

David Mataloni scored a game-high 18 points for the 3-2 Kohawks and Andrew Wirth contributed 17. Nathan Joens and Seth Light each grabbed 11 rebounds.

CORNELL 58, ST. NORBERT 54 — Joey Guth scored 16 points and Reggie Greenwood scored 14 to lead Cornell past St. Norbert at the Small Multi-Sport Center in Mount Vernon.

Alex Miller chipped in 11 for the 2-2 Rams in their Midwest Conference opener. St. Norbert is 2-2, 1-1.

LUTHER 72, VITERBO 58 — All five Luther starters scored in double figures, led by Tyler Wedemeier with 13 points and 10 rebounds, in Luther’s triumph at Regents Center.

Aaron Huber and John Androus scored 13 points apiece for Luther, Michael Crocker chipped in 11 and Zach Matos scored 10.

Luther is 4-2. Viterbo is 5-6.
