WATERLOO- A large number of displaced workers from the Hostess bakery and distribution center in Waterloo turned out for a special job fair Friday morning.

The Greater Cedar Valley Alliance and Chamber (GCVAC) put the job fair together with the displaced bakery, sales and trucking workers in mind.  The specialized job fair drew a total of about 20 potential employers.

The list of companies participating included a number in the food processing, warehousing or distribution business.

Brittany Jungck, director of business services for the GCVAC, said while the job fair was aimed at the former Hostess employees, other job seekers could participate.  It was the group’s goal to give at least half the 85 displaced workers at the bakery and distribution center one solid lead to a new job.
