Community members will get their say next week on the proposals for a high-profile project downtown.

The City Council at its Dec. 4 meeting will take public comment on the plans for the redevelopment of the northeast corner of College and Gilbert streets.

The council at a three-hour work session earlier this week heard from five development teams competing for the chance to build on the city-owned property. The proposals range in cost from $16.5 million to $53.8 million and from five to 20 stories tall. Each is asking for financial assistance from the city.

The council is expected to pick a preferred developer at its Dec. 18 meeting.
