GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Coralville this year by announcing plans to hire more than 100 new associates over the next 12 months. The facility will officially celebrate this milestone on Friday, December 14, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Coralville and Johnson County representatives will join GEICO management, including Gary Brown, GEICO regional vice president, and members of the Iowa City Area Development Group.
GEICO’s Coralville office opened in 1997 in 29,000 square feet of space of a vacant Eagle grocery store.  The company selected Coralville due to its Midwest location, a well-educated workforce, and its proximity to the University of Iowa.
Now with a 15-year record of success and 350 associates, GEICO is looking ahead and plans to hire 100 new associates in the next 12 months. “Based on the talented associates we’ve hired in the area, we expect future hires will be equally as committed to our policyholders and eager to learn the business,” said Lona Montgomery, Coralville director.
Candidates are encouraged to visit the Careers section of the GEICO website to apply.  GEICO is vigorously screening and interviewing candidates now for training sessions that begin in January.
