Twisters rollin pair of meets

The Twisters Gymnastics Club in Hiawatha recently competed in tournaments in Waterloo and Coralville, bringing home

At the Black Hawk Classic, Lacey Neighbor (vault, bars), Chloe Carpenter (bars), Shawna Linderman (bars) and Ferin Bergen (bars) won in Level 4. Emilly Richards won the vault, bars, beam, floor exercise and all around in Level 5, and Miriam Price (beam) and Gabriella Schroud (bars, floor, all-around) also brought home gold.

Sara Nolting (floor) won in Level 6.

Paige Wilhelm, Anna Neumann, Reese Miller, Alexis Wheeler and Serena Rupert were placewinners in Level 4. Leah Hendrickson, Megan Hendrickson, Riley Kalouse, Tatum Burnhardt, Taylor Peterson, Anna Penning and Aliyah Burtis placed in Level 5, and Natalie Averkamp in Level 6.

At the Flip for Food meet, Carpenter won the bars, beam, floor and all-around in Level 4, Elise Smith the vault, bars, floor and all-around, and Neumann (floor) and Carlie Mathers (bars) also won. Wilhem, Adria Knudson, Sophia Barbier, Elizabeth Tanner, Reese Miller, Amera Nakuritimana and Alexis Wheeler.

Megan Hendrickson won the vault, bars and all-around in Level 5, and Richards (floor), Burnhardt (bars), Price (beam), Schroud (floor), Taylor Peterson (bars) and Bree Lewis (bars, floor, all-around) also won. Leah Hendrickson, Riley Schweitzer, Kalouse, Peyton Sand, Sammie Triplett, Lindsey Carnahan, Aliyah Burtis, and Emma Lewis placed.

Nolting won the bars, and floor in Level 6 and Averkamp was a placewinner.

Moser athletes shine in Jewell

JEWELL — Katelyn Mangold, Josephine Briggs, Madison Schaul, Brandie Heims, Luke Farmer, Cheyenne Varner, Emma Kulper, Kylie Henry, Emmy Troester, Hannabelle Erickson, Olivia Schindler, Meliah Eiben, Kole Pape, Grace Funke, Jason Recker and Daniel Clayber of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic won title in a recent USTA Power Tumbling meet.

Kendallyn Recker, Davien Schweitzer, Madsion Habel, Noa Marting, Rachel Clayberg, Elizabeth Recker, Kayli Tegeler, Shalaya Armstead, Lelia Martin, Micah Brase, Ella Marting, Mikya Britton and Gabbi Funke all placed second.

Danielle Schweitzer, Nicole Pettinger, Amber Meyers, Cierra Weipert, Emma Marting, Hanna Marting, Becca Farmer, Kayla Felton, Aly Sayre, Natalie Meyers, Madelyn Hogan, Megan Brase and Amy Morris were third.

Hartzler leadsCRAG at Hodedown

WAUKEE — Grace Hartzler of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics swept the Level 6 vault, bars, beam, floor exercise and all-around at the Harvet Hoedown recently.

Hailey Hakes in Level 4, Kyleigh Garcia in Level 5 and Connie Mendoza in Level 6 all won three events.

Elizabeth Anderson, Maanasa Chinnakonda, Kori Lyle and Grace Zaugg also won in Level 4, Megan Norris in Level 5, and Lily Culver, Kareena McSweeny and Emma Westfall in Level 6.

Top three finishers were Sidney Davidson and Alyssa McAleer in Level 4, Hanna Maus and Lily Winterowd in Level 5, and Maya Deuso and Mary Kate Patterson in Level 6.
