The Iowa City Music Auxiliary held its annual carwash on Oct. 13. The auxiliary is a volunteer parent organization that raises funds to support performance music programs in all of the Iowa City Community Schools. The carwash is our major fundraising event of the year. This year, 300 students, more than 100 parents and all district music teachers signed up to wash cars at six locations in Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty despite the poor weather that reduced the amount raised.

We thank all who participated in supporting our programs, especially the businesses that hosted the event. Hy-Vee Food Stores in Iowa City on North Dodge and First Avenue; Sherwin-Williams on Highway 6 East in Iowa City; Two Rivers Bank and Trust in Coralville; and the University of Iowa Community Credit Unions. Their support contributes to the wonderful performance music programs we have in our schools.
