The Corridor-based startup company Ready to Go in America! took home a check for $5000 and will advance to compete for $10,000 more as the Creative Corridor’s representative in the statewide Dream Big Grow Here contest in March 2013.

Jeff Owens, Mekinda Mekinda and Bobby Schlichting are the co-founders of Ready to Go in America!, a pocket guide and mobile app that helps international students navigate living in the United States and adapt to American culture. Owens is a senior informatics and art major at The University of Iowa, Mekinda is a participant in a special international program based out of Kirkwood Community College, and Schlichting is a entrepreneur and farmer from Vinton, Iowa.
