TransAmerica Agency Network Inc. in Cedar Rapids announced plans this week to open 12 district offices across the country over the next two years.

About 100 offices are in the insurance agency network, the company said. New offices were recently opened in Omaha, Dallas and Houston.

The office expansion is expected to create about 200 new positions.
