A man who was shot early Sunday morning in Cedar Rapids has been released from the hospital, police said.
Around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, officers rushed to the 4800 block of First Avenue SW for a report of shots fired. They located Dontell Black, 22, of Cedar Rapids, who had been shot in the leg. Black was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was treated and released, police said.
According to a police report, Black told police he was walking to a building when a person came from around the side of the building and started shooting at him. Black started to run and was struck in the right leg.
No suspect information was included in the initial police report. No arrests had been made by mid-afternoon Monday.
An investigation was continuing.
