It is comforting to know that none of the unprecedented weather disasters of 2012 are caused, or contributed to in any way, by climate change or global warming. This statement is based on information from Fox News, Republican politicians, and roughly 3 percent of climate scientists.
The only difficulty that remains unexplained is why a rash of tornadoes in February and early March, widespread wildfires in the west, damaging storms and heat in the east, terrible drought and heat in the Midwest, and the record damage caused by Hurricane Sandy have occurred in a short span of time.
Perhaps we can take solace in the fact that these weather extremes, which are likely to continue, are in no way related to climate change or global warming.
