Two very close Iowa Senate races left unresolved on Tuesday have gone to Democrats. A third race likely will see a recount.

The District 26 race between incumbents Republican Merlin Bartz and Democrat Mary Wilhelm was settled Wednesday when Bartz conceded the race. Bartz says uncounted provisional and absentee ballots will not change the results. The unofficial tally shows Wilhelm wins by 120 votes.

In District 30 incumbent Democrat Jeff Danielson has won. The Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier says Republican Matt Reisetter has conceded the race. Danielson wins by 616 votes.

The remaining race likely to be challenged by Democrats seeking a recount is District 28. Republican Michael Breitbach leads Democrat John Beard by 37 votes out of more than 29,000.
