Few glitches are being reported on Election Day in Iowa, but some voters are complaining that they didn’t get an “I voted” sticker.

The Iowa Secretary of State’s office says it’s up to each county auditor whether to offer the stickers. Some businesses honor them for free treats or services as encouragement to get people to vote.

In Des Moines, Polk County Auditor Jamie Fitzgerald says he received an email from the secretary of state’s office about the stickers. It says federal law dictates that if a business offers such an incentive they have to offer it everyone — sticker or no sticker.

Fitzgerald, noting his budget was cut, says the goal is make sure every voter voters, and that’s why Polk County didn’t offer the stickers.
