The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Le Ann Tyson with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Professionals. Gold Star Awards in appreciation of outstanding professional cooperation were awarded to Dawn Slezak, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Professionals; Jerome Howe, Iowa Realty; Terri Larson, Lepic-Kroeger, Realtors; Karol Miller Lepic-KroegerRealtors; and Cayla Swift, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Professionals. 25 year pins were presented to Jerome Howe, Iowa Realty; Rex Brandstatter, Re/Max Affiliates; and Danette Raley, Creekside Realty. The Iowa Association of Realtors named Bob Hackney (see photo) 2012 Realtor of the Year. Hackney has been a realtor since 1994 and is vice president of Skogman Realty, where he has worked since 1997.
Yusung Kim, assistant professor of Radiation Oncology Department at the University of Iowa, presented his research findings at the 54th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) in Boston.

Solon-based homebuilder Legacy GreenBuilders is the first custom builder in Iowa to enter into an agreement with the Residential Energy Services Network to use RESNET’s HERS Index. Use of the HERS Index will differentiate homes built by Legacy GreenBuilders.
