Some thoughts for Bobby Kaufmann (Iowa House candidate, District 73).

You say you care about senior citizens. The political party supporting your campaign is actively trying to dismantle Social Security and Medicare and leave these seniors to sink or swim on their own. If you intend to break with your party on this, stand up and say so now.

You agreed that some of your potential constituents find the changes in mental health care delivery in our state to be mostly positive and helpful. Do you acknowledge that mental illnesses are real and have many causes and solutions? Many people dealing with mental illnesses cannot hold jobs long enough to earn the rent, let alone pay for health care and save for retirement.

The political party supporting your campaign calls these people freeloaders. Do you intend to lead your party in a different direction if you get elected?
