Todd Dorman’s column of Oct. 16, prompts this letter. First, I commend him for opening his eyes and recognizing that Mitt Romney may well be our next president.

I must take issue with him that our country will thrive no matter what the outcome is.

This election will be the 17th time for my voting in the presidential contest. I believe this is the most crucial ever. Not only will the presidency be determined but our justice system and the makeup of the Supreme Court could be influenced for generations to come.

Indeed, this is critical and we must change the current path or we may be doomed as the leader of the free world and the beacon for democracy we have been for more than 200 years.

Thank you again, Dorman, for your column and its insightful theme.
