CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Bowling Hall of Fame is about to grow by three members — Cindi Tippett, Diane Hawkins and Steve Berry.

The ceremony will take place Sunday at the Marion American Legion, starting with a social period at noon and lunch at 12:30.

Tippett has been bowling for 35 years and has carried at least a 200 league average the past seven. She owns a 300 game and has rolled a 700 series 25 times. The eight-year member of the Cedar Rapids Women’s Bowling Association has been a certified youth coach for 25 years.

Hawkins, who has been bowling in leagues around Cedar Rapids since 1978, has increased her average from 180 in the 1980s to 200 the past 10 years. An Iowa state champion, she has won city titles in team and senior competitions. She has a high game of 280 and 40 700 series.

Berry, longtime proprietor of Berry’s Lanes in Vinton, is a four-time state champion and a six-time state runner-up. He owns seven Cedar Rapids city titles and is a former PBA bowler. He has 15 300 games and nine 800 series.

For tickets to the ceremony, contact Dave McNabb, (319) 521-1114, or Dan Jensen, (319) 447-0334.
