Campaign aides say presidential candidate Mitt Romney will return Monday to Iowa, making it the Republican’s third trip to the state in a week.
Romney plans to campaign in Davenport on Monday afternoon. Specifics of the visit will be released later.
Iowa is among nine states where Romney and Obama are competing to reach the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the Nov. 6 election.
Public polls have shown Obama, who won Iowa in 2008, ahead in the state, and closer to the electoral vote threshold than Romney. The candidates also are campaigning intensely in Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.
