Sally Stutsman, candidate for House District 77, is the embodiment of a person qualified for this office. It has been my pleasure to observe her activities as a supervisor since her first election to the board in 1994.

As a supervisor in Johnson County, one of Iowa’s five growing urban counties, issues confronting Stutsman and her colleagues have been varied and frequently challenging. She has never shirked tackling the demands, is her own person and asks tough questions to pursue unbiased facts. Most important, she seeks feedback from the variety of her constituencies. If elected to the state legislature, she will carefully study the facts and form positions based on what is best for the state and for her district. This has been her record.

As a public school superintendent, first as legislative chair of the Iowa Association of School Administrators and then as vice-chair of the Illinois Large School Unit District Administrators, to lobby, both in Springfield and Des Moines. Effective lawmakers with whom I have interacted over the years reflect what I have observed in Stutsman.

She will work tirelessly to fulfill superbly the legislative demands of District 77.
