Curbside yard waste pick-up extended for Marion residents

The City of Marion Public Services Department has extended curbside yard waste pick-up through Friday, Nov. 16, 2012. Residents are reminded to place leaves in a 32 gallon can marked with a “Y” or biodegradable bags, and refrain from raking them into the street.

Sticks, limbs, and brush larger than 1 inch but no greater than 4 inches in diameter should be bundled and placed at the curb. Bundles should not measure more than 3 feet in length or width. Grass clippings should always be placed in biodegradable bags.

Residents can also utilize the Yard Waste Drop-Off facility located at 195 35th Street. Leaves, grass clippings, and brush less than 4 inches in diameter are accepted at the facility free of charge. It is open Monday –Friday from 7 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The facility will also be open Sunday, Oct. 28 from noon – 4 p.m.
