Authorities in Cedar Rapids are asking for help from the public to identify a theft suspect seen on surveillance video.

The Police Department released a video clip Wednesday showing the suspect enter Ajram Upholstery, 722 Sixth St. SW, around 1 p.m. on Sept. 4. The man reportedly used a phone at the business and after he left, employees noticed that a wallet had been taken.

The suspect is a black male in his 20s, around 5-foot-7 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored shirt on the day of the incident.

Anyone who recognizes the man seen walking across the parking lot and entering the store is asked to contact police at (319) 286-5317 or Linn County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME (272-7463).
