Three days after a 38-14 shellacking to Penn State, Iowa’s players say they’ve moved on to the next challenge. They showed up at the regularly scheduled time to discuss several topics, including upcoming opponent Northwestern. Here’s what they had to say:

Iowa QB James Vandenberg didn’t have time to lie around his apartment and watch film or the NFL on Sunday after the Hawkeyes’ 38-14 loss to Penn State. He had to study for a test. He also talks about his high school rivalry with current Iowa wide receiver Jordan Cotton. Vandenberg went to Keokuk and Cotton played at Mount Pleasant.

Iowa fullback/running back Mark Weisman and tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz are heading back to their home state this weekend and are looking for extra tickets. Weisman is still nursing his ankle back into shape. Guard Austin Blythe also talked about stepping back into the lineup.

Iowa cornerbacks Micah Hyde and B.J. Lowery discuss the difficulties of defending against Northwestern’s quick-tempo offensive attack.
