About 5,000 fans rushed into Carver-Hawkeye Arena for tonight’s Black and Gold Blowout. The event emcee is KCRG-TV9 personality Bruce Aune.

The night started with some giveaways and contests and followed with a cheerleader routine. Then came the show, filled with fireworks and a pyrotechnics.

The dance squads opened with a routine to The Black Eyed Peas “I’ve Got A Feeling” followed by introductions of the women’s basketball team. Here’s a video of that performance and introductions.

The women then scrimmaged for eight minutes. Senior guard Jaime Printy wore a large brace over her surgically repaired left knee  but hit a 3-pointer in the scrimmage.

The Iowa Golden Girl and Iowa dance team also performed. Here are their routines.
