Authorities have identified the woman killed in an accident Monday afternoon in Cedar Falls as Karli Hilgenberg, 20, of Cedar Rapids.

Officials responded around 4:15 p.m. to an accident at Highway 58 and Viking Road. Police said Hilgenberg was traveling southbound on Highway 58 and attempted to make a left turn onto Viking Road when her car was struck by a northbound semi-trailer truck driven by Richard Evans, 44, of Charles City.

Hilgenberg was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The accident remains under investigation.
