I was astonished to read a Sept. 2 Gazette article that dissected statements made at the Republican National Convention by so-called “factcheckers.” Since “factcheckers” put their own spin on the facts, I couldn’t figure out why that wasn’t in the opinion section, but chose to hold my opinion in check until The Gazette had an opportunity to print a comparable article about the Democratic National Convention. So I waited, and when I picked up my copy of the Sept. 9 Gazette, funny thing, I couldn’t find an article about the Democratic Convention that looked anything like the one that had been published about the Republican convention.
Am I to believe that The Gazette just hasn’t gotten around to it yet? Or maybe The Gazette just didn’t consider it important; after all, this was the Democrats, and since your audience is largely in the Democrat camp, it wouldn’t be considered news!
