Dyersville fields offer dreams for everyone

I congratulate the developers, city and citizens of Dyersville for their progressive move to build a 24-field baseball complex. This is great for all of Eastern Iowa and the state. This is what happens when everyone works together for the good of the community.

We had the same dream for Prospect Meadows, but the county supervisors didn’t provide financial support, which made the financing very difficult, and since I had just completed the financial plan for the Iowa Transportation Museum for $5.3 million, I knew what was required. I would never spend $9.4 million on leased land.

I resigned from the Prospect Meadows board in January and am now a full-time caregiver for my wonderful wife, who has Alzheimers.

I wish Prospect Meadows the very best, but they need everyone’s help to do the program.
