14 ceremonial rifles stolen from American Legion post near Clinton

Each rifle valued at $300, officials say

Police are investigating a burglary 20 miles north of Clinton that involved over a dozen ceremonial parade rifles being taken.

Officials responded to a report of a burglary Tuesday at the American Legion, 500 Pearl St. in Sabula. According to officials, one of the doors leading into the establishment had been kicked in, and approximately 14 ceremonial parade rifles were taken during the burglary. Each rifle is valued at $300, police said.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
