One hurt in Cedar Rapids burglary

Man kicked in door of woman's home, police say; no arrests as of Tuesday afternoon

Cedar Rapids police are investigating a burglary in southeast Cedar Rapids this morning.

Officers responded to a burglary in progress at the 1600 block of First Ave. SE around 10:35 a.m. Tuesday. According to police, a male kicked in the door at the residence. Officers haven’t yet determined if the man was armed. The adult female resident suffered minor injuries in the burglary and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment.

Police said officers on scene were “attempting to piece everything together,” but no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon.
