My wife and I recently traveled to Virgina to attend a family wedding. As we drove through several cities between there and our home in Cedar Rapids, the traffic was fast and furious.
We arrived back in Cedar Rapids around 5 p.m. on a weekday. We had to drive completely through town on Interstate 380 to pick up our dog at a kennel. We both marveled at the decent speed the heavy traffic was traveling compared to the other cities we had come through. It was surreal and pleasant.
We commend our police department and city government for adopting speed monitoring cameras. And we are pleased that the new chief of police also is an advocate.
