An Iowa City woman is accused of child endangerment and criminal mischief after police say she intentionally hit her soon-to-be ex-husband’s car while her four children were in the back seat.

According to an Iowa City police department complaint, Patricia Hernandez-Gamon, 31, followed her husband and his current girlfriend to the area of 171 Highway 1 W. on Sept. 23, where she rammed her car into his unoccupied car.

Police said Hernandez-Gamon had her four children, ages 13, 9, 8 and 3 months, in the car at the time of the incident, and the person who called in the accident expressed concern for the children to dispatchers. The complaint said the damage done to each of the cars combined was $10,000.

Hernandez-Gamon was arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal mischief, a class C felony, and four counts of child endangerment without injury, an aggravated misdemeanor. The complaint said Hernandez-Gamon admitted to her role in the incident.
