Video: Iowa City man has been harvesting honey for 25 years

After setting his beehives down in his shop on the outskirts of Iowa City, Dave Irwin, a local beekeeper, prepares to harvest for honey.

Irwin, 59, of Iowa City, has been a beekeeper for 25 years. Irwin got involved with beekeeping by responding to a request from his friend to do bee removal. After the removal, he realized that he needed to find a new home for the bees.

Irwin sells his wildflower honey to family and friends. He also sells them at the Johnson County fair. He only harvests once a year and nowadays it usually takes him a couple of days to finish the job.
