A large neighborhood dispute escalated after officials responded to a call of a large group of people fighting with clubs Tuesday evening.

Officials responded to Tenth Avenue and Ninth Street SE, where two groups of people were arguing. Officials believe the dispute may have involved an incident from the night before.

A young man allegedly was hit with a golf club, but no mark was found on him and he wasn’t taken to the hospital regarding his injuries, officials said. No arrests were made regarding the incident.

“You’ve got to get along,” Cedar Rapids police Lt. Cory McGarvey said. “We will be stepping up patrol until it gets handled.”
