CEDAR FALLS – University of Northern Iowa head men’s basketball coach Ben Jacobson announced today that senior guard Anthony James  has been suspended for the first three games of the 2012-13 regular season.

The suspension is a result of James’s violation of team and athletics department policies. No other details were available.

“I’m disappointed for Anthony and our team,” Jacobson said. “However, the situation has been dealt with and put behind us. We are looking forward to the start of practice.”

The release said Jacobson will have no further comment on the matter.
