More modern inventions means fewer children

People are having fewer children today. Hmm, I believe it’s due to modern inventions. Examples, you ask? Well, in my family — my oldest two siblings, born in late 1930s early ’40s — there were no riding mowers; my parents raised chickens, rabbits and a huge garden. They needed more help. My next two siblings were born in mid ’50s. We had a TV but there was no such thing as a remote control, cable, dish washer, and still no riding mower. I was born in 1960, and we eventually got a color TV, still no remote control, cable, dish washer or riding mower.

Essentially, parents had more children to fulfill their need for “legs.”

Yes, people are having fewer children, and we have microwaves, lawn services, dish washers, cables, remotes, computers, cellphones and bored, spoiled rotten, disrespectful children.

Yes, I understand “fewer” children.
