IOWA CITY — Iowa fullback Mark Weisman was asked if he liked the spotlight, which came with him scoring three touchdowns and rushing for 113 yards in Iowa’s 27-16 football win over Northern Iowa Saturday.
“I don’t mind it,” he said, “but it doesn’t matter to me, really.”
Weisman handled himself with aplomb in the postgame interview session. After his head coach talks about him in the first of the following videos, Weisman showed he was ready for his close-up.
He showed that on the Kinnick Stadium field, actually.
If it takes using a fullback at running back to keep a healthy player in the game I guess that’s what we have to do. It’s a shame though because Garmon was looking great on kick return and starting to show his open field potential and Bullock was locked in as a pass catching versatile runner. I hope both are back soon because they all bring something to the table.
