Comedian Scott Long is an Iowa native, and joined me on my podcast today (from ScottLongClass.wordpress.com)

Today’s podcast is about the Hawkeyes’ loss to Iowa State, their lack of playmakers at wide receiver, and … comedy.

But not all at the same time. Definitely not all at the same time.

Mike’s guest is Scott Long, a stand-up comedian, and a comedy writer for Fox’s NFL pregame show for the past nine seasons. Scott is an Iowa native and University of Iowa graduate, so he didn’t find the ISU-Iowa game any funnier than the rest of his fellow Hawkeye fans.

He shares his opinions on the team, talks about the rich sports scene at Iowa when he was in school there in the mid-1980s (he used to tell girls he was Chuck Long’s brother), and discusses the process of writing jokes for NFL broadcasts.
