If you were in Poland

The teenage daughter of a friend is spending her senior year of high school abroad. She’s living in Poland and I am quite jealous of the fact that the dad of her host family is a chef.

Despite that, I received a Facebook request to send her measuring cups and spoons. She is feeling homesick for food she knows, but isn’t able to make it without utensils she’s familiar with.

I purchased the measuring cups and spoons, and a few more things, too. If you are paying to mail a package overseas, you might as well make it worth your while, right?

I asked my kids for help, which is always entertaining.

Me: Hey kids, what would you want if you were in Poland?

The boy: Fruit Roll-Ups.

I have the feeling I’ll be mailing a lot of Fruit Roll-Ups and Gushers to my son when he goes to college.
