Waterloo police arrested a woman who allegedly left her four children in a parked car Wednesday.

Officers responded to a call about children left unattended in a vehicle at Hy-Vee, at 2834 Ansborough Ave. where they found a 1-year-old, five-year-old, six-year-old and a nine-year-old in “a secure vehicle and running.” Police said the children were left in the car for 13 minutes, and arrested 24-year-old Tashee M. Sanford, 29, of Waterloo on suspicion of four counts of child endangerment.

Police said the children have been turned over to a family member.

Sanford was released from the Black Hawk County jail this morning.
