Here we go. Iowa State week is sailing.
Injury update: Nothing to update. CB B.J. Lowery should play. Questions start at 1:10 and the first was about the anemic passing game and pass protection or lack thereof. Also, ISU’s talented LBs.
First question is on ISU QB Steele Jantz. Then, it’s Iowa RB Damon Bullock, RB distribution (Bullock’s 30 carries) and pooch punts.
Again with Jantz, this time on the contain question. Ferentz said he forgot to take his helmet to his first game as a kid, but remembered that he needed to play contain.
Ferentz talks ISU’s program and the continuity in concept that Paul Rhoads has seemingly had since day 1. (This is a sharp observation. Rhoads knew what he wanted ISU to be on offense and defense.) Rivalry stuff, what does Iowa QB James Vandenberg need to improve on, WR separation and more rivalry stuff.
Ferentz is asked about the vibe around the program. This might be the emotion question, as in why does Paul Rhoads have more than you? You only need to go as far back as last season’s Michigan game to catch an extremely emotional Ferentz with tears in his eyes sprinting up the tunnel after the win.
