Two men were injured on Monday when their FedEx delivery truck veered off Interstate 80 near Iowa City and hit several trees, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The FedEx semi-trailer truck was eastbound on I-80 near the 255 mile marker, near Prairie du Chien Road, about 7:30 a.m. Monday when the driver lost control and entered the south ditch, where it hit several trees, according to an accident report. The driver and co-driver, who were both males but have not been identified, were taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for evaluation.

It’s unknown what caused the accident, and authorities are still investigating.

The current condition of the two men isn’t known.

The accident snarled traffic and caused back-ups as numerous agencies assisted.
