An Aug. 22 Mary Sanchez column explained clearly how the coming election will affect the middle class. She also mentioned a book by a reporting team of Donald Bartlett and James Steele, “The Betrayal of the American dream.”

If you consider yourself part of the middle class, I suggest you read her article. As she asserts, for this election, listen carefully as to what each candidate really is saying they will do.

There is a U.S. wealth gap has expanded to proportions last seen in the time of the robber barons. Hopefully this can be corrected in this election.
