Armed robbery reported outside of Marion restaurant

According to police, a handgun was displayed outside of KFC; man's wallet was stolen

MARION – Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery outside of a KFC restaurant in Marion.

Officers responded to the restaurant at 1925 Seventh Ave. when the incident was reported around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday. Lt. Scott Elam said the robbery did not involve the business, and no injuries were reported.

According to police, a man reported he was approached by two or three men in the parking lot outside of the restaurant. A handgun was displayed and the suspects demanded money. They got away with the man’s wallet.

No arrests have been made in the case, Elam said.

Investigators were interviewing the victim at the police station. No other information was immediately released.
