Romney, Ryan are capable leaders

America is at a crucial crossroads. This election will determine whether we continue on the road to disaster under President Obama with massive government debt, anti-free enterprise regulations, socialistic government control of our economy, promotion of abortion and same-sex marriage and government-controlled health care, or instead elect Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, who will restore respect for free enterprise, get us back to a balanced federal budget, repeal ObamaCare health law and get the federal government out of interfering with business and states’ rights.

Romney and Ryan are proven capable leaders whose qualifications and experience are the credentials we need to keep our freedom and nation’s character strong.

Romney, Ryan are capable leaders
  1. Well, now, Mr. Kittleson, you make your position—based on really ridiculous propositions—abundantly clear.

What you DON’T do is to substantiate your contention that the Republican nominees “are proven capable leaders whose qualifications and experience are the credentials we need to keep our freedom and nation’s character strong.” In examining their respective records, I find that statement untrue on many counts.

    • John you keep making vague references and comparisons. It’s time to step up to the plate. Please provide years and capability analysis of Obama’s experience compared to Mitt Romney’s.

      Romney’s leadership career includes:

      - Church mission. Donated a couple of years of his time to serve a church mission.
      - Church parish leader caring for his community with no pay for his time.
      - Spend a couple of years as the executive in charge rescuing the winter Olympics.
      - Spent many years creating a company that created wealth, jobs, pension funds and charitable giving.
      - Spent a term as Governer of a State improving is fiscal budget status, increasing jobs and creating a healthcare program.

The only experience Obama can raise is 4 years as a filed President will a failing economy, increasing federal deficits, government over reaching everywhere, energy prices riswing rapidly. He now is condcting a mean spirited campaign running away from his record. I am waiting for a Democratic Convention that sings the praises of his record.

Obama never was qualified to be President and his record and his campaign strategy are the proof.

  2. Much of what Mr. Kittleson says is just nonsensical rhetoric and that reminds me of the Ryan convention speech.
Hopefully if Mr. Ryan becomes vice president he will read a speech handed to him before he delivers it and do some fact checking ! (What will he say without a speech ?!)
From Fox News no less (hardly a “liberal mouthpiece”):
    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/08/30/paul-ryans-speech-in-three-words/

  3. My question to Willard Romney would be, how is your political philosophy any differant than George W.Bush’s. My question to Paul Ryan would be, have you alwayse spoken with forke tongue. Vote independent.

    • Ex presidents and vice presidents typically speak at conventions. The Republican convention — not this year. Neither G.W. Bush or the big Dick were invited. There’s a message there.

  4. Are you serious?? How is this news? This is nothing more than an unsubstantiated opinion piece. Capitalism needs restrictions. We have gone from a system of fortunate and less fortunate, to winners and losers in a broken system. Romney is one of many who took advantage of this broken system for vast, personal profit with no remorse. Paul Ryan is no better. People like you, John Kittlesn, are demonizing Obama when you don’t even see how people like Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney are taking away your rights much more efficiently and much less publicly .

  5. Excellent letter Mr. Kittleson! You said it all! Imagine an America focusing on jobs instead of same-sex, the liberal war on women, war on illegal aliens, and running guns to drug traffickers ect… The list is endless. America is tired of the same old excuses for failure. The upcoming Democrat Convention will prove to be the same rehash for the last four years. Enough is enough.

  6. Thank you, John. I’m with you. I like how Marco Rubio put it. Concerning Obama’s socialism, he called them the “ideas that people come to America to get away from.” We don’t need 4 more years of that. This country can hardly take 4 more years of Obama’s policies and still remain standing.

    • In my opinion, Mr.Marlow, four years of doubling down on failed Republican policy could ruin the country. That’s precisely what the Double-R ticket and their masters have in mind.

  7. Another letter full of hyperbole with no facts based on sound and credible sources.

I assume that everyone would agree that the number one issue in this country is the economy and jobs. I hope people will realize that, on that front, Romney and Ryan have nothing credible to offer. Their economic plans are pure fantasy and can not be supported by any sound economic theory.

How do you cut spending a lot and increase employment? Answer – you do not. http://www.epi.org/blog/paul-ryan-budget-discretionary-cuts-cost-jobs/

The Romney/Ryan plan is very much like the Bush plan. Remember how well that worked?

    • Regarding “. . . everyone would agree . . . number 1 issue . . . the economy and jobs.” Well, not Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in October 2010. His stated No. 1 priority was making Obama a 1 term president.

      • Obama had the house and senate for 2 years and still has 2/3 majority and ya’ll are still blaming anything else but yourselves. This is Obamas economy now and he will leave a bigger mess to clean up. Romneys experience in business is far more than any qualified experience Obama ever had. As far as Biden vs Ryan? Game over.

        • No, ma’am, with due respect, it most certainly is a disastrous Republican economy, and it will take us years, perhaps decades, to dig our way out. We made some real progress during the first two years of this administration, and then went right back into the cesspool of the previous administration. It took decades of fiscal mismanagement to get us into this mess. Eight years of the Clinton administration and two of the three-plus of the Obama administration are not nearly enough time to fix the problems.

You do know that Romney had to beg for a bailout at Bain, don’t you? You do know how much we wasted in Salt Lake City, don’t you? I’m sure you’re aware of Mr. Biden’s stellar service on the Senate Committee on the Judiciary and on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, aren’t you?

I find it strange that our friends on the right are still blaming Franklin Roosevelt for problems created before he took office. He died in 1945.

      • Cedric, you do realize Harry Reid holds the majority in the senate? McConnell can’t do much if he wanted. But keep trotting out that quote, it’s an oldie but a goodie and hopefully it will come true in Nov.

        • “McConnell can’t do much if he wanted.”

          Really?

You HAVE heard the word “filibuster,” haven’t you? It takes a super-majority of 60 votes in the Senate to pass most bills these days. Mr. McConnell and his merry band of thugs have done their best to scrap anything proposed from across the aisle.

Sorry, Ms. Ketteson, Your contention just doesn’t withstand the sniff test.

        • McConnell’s stated objective was a Republican party objective, not specifically what the Republican Senators could do in the Senate.

    • “Their economic plans are pure fantasy and can not be supported by any sound economic theory.”

The economic theory is just like Greece and Cuba. Greece is in full riot mode because they have borrowed them-selves so far in debt they can’t see the sun. Like Rubio said, we got out of Cuba to get away from this kind of government.

      • I was talking about Romney/Ryan’s economic plans. Are you saying that the economic theory supporting their (Romney/Ryan) economic plans are “just like Greece and Cuba”? Interesting.

      • Mr Ellis,
        “We” got out of Cuba?
Oh and Greece is in full riot mode because of the austerity measures that have been forced on the people of Greece. Every single European country that has adopted austerity as the way to deal with the current Recession (it’s global, not just us) has gone into double dip.
We’ve avoided austerity and have adopted a traditional Keynsian approach and, compared to Europe, which has done it your way, we’re in good shape

        • “Oh and Greece is in full riot mode because of the austerity measures that have been forced on the people of Greece.”

Greece is in “full riot mode” due to decades of Liberal Enitlement policies and are BROKE! The only reason our stock market is up is because of QE1, QE2, and QE3. That is NOT Keynsian. It’s called theft n debt. What a joke.

    • Obama had no intention of creating jobs and will have no intention of creating jobs a second term. 50 million people on the government dole is NOT jobs.

  8. Romney and Ryan are proven capable leaders<<<<< Romney is a proven leader in shutting down plants, selling off the equipment and sending the jobs overseas, and Ryan is a proven liar, who was partnered with Akin until people it was politically unsafe for him

  9. Romney is capable of, and will, bankrupt our nation- It is the entirety of his “business experience” at Bain

Romney is capable of dodging taxes

Romney is capable of hiding his money offshore so we all pay more taxes.

Ryan is capable of blocking legislation until the credit rating of our nation was lowered–purposefully wiping out all the economic gains of the first two years since the start of the Bush Depression.

Ryan’s plan will cause medicade and medicare “die on the vine” – along with Grandma.

Neither have spoken a word of truth in two or three years now.

What these two fascists are capable of is exactly why they should not be elected.

    • John their is not a word of truth you can substantiate for your statements. Nor have you addressed Obama’s dreadful record on every front.

      • “dreadful record on every front” hmmmmm

Osama bin Laden is dead. We’re out of Iraq and on schedule to withdraw from Afghanistan. The stock market is up over 50%. Millions of Americans enjoy a heighten level of security regarding their health care. A complete financial meltdown has been avoided. GM is alive and well with a bright future. Albeit slower than we like, the economy has made steady progress. Progress has been made on providing gays and lesbians in the military with equality. Progress has been made on providing same sex couples with equality.

Doesn’t sound dreadful to me. What’s dreadful is what Romney and Ryan plan to do.

        • Rich,
You forgot the Dream Act. A small step, but still a step toward immigration reform
And the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act
And reproductive health care fully covered by ACA
And though oft overlooked but perhaps the most important, Rush Limbaugh is not a Democrat

        • “Osama bin Laden is dead.”

Credit to themen and women of the military.

” We’re out of Iraq and on schedule to withdraw from Afghanistan”

Bush arranged getting out of Iraq. We’ve lost thousands of american lives because of Obama’s rules of engagement and annoucing a date for withdrawal.

“The stock market is up over 50%.”

          Credit to the Europena recession.

“Millions of Americans enjoy a heighten level of security regarding their health care.”

          You live in fantasy land.

“A complete financial meltdown has been avoided”

The Bush administration and American business are to be thanked.

“GM is alive and well with a bright future.”

Not according to the stock market and don’t forget bond-holders got raped, 20,000 Delphi employees lost their pensions and thousands of car dealerships are out of business with thousands of jobs lost.

“Albeit slower than we like, the economy has made steady progress.”

          40+ months of 8% unemployment.

          Federal deficit is $16 TRILLION.

          “Doesn’t sound dreadful to me.”

That’s because you are living in an alternative universe.

  10. Ellis,
The federal deficit for FY 2012 is $1.1 trillion, not $16 trillion.
Unemployment dropped from a high of over 10% in Oct of 2009. What we’ve had is 40+ months of private sector job growth. If public sector jobs weren’t dropping, the unemployment rate would be a full point lower
I could go point by point but what would be the point. Anyone who would credit George Bush with getting us out of this Recession is incapable of any rational discussion on this topic
