Angels showed kindness, generosity

On Aug. 18, I shopped in Kmart in Cedar Rapids and left my change purse in the bathroom. I went to the nearby Hy-Vee and discovered its loss at the checkout. It was devastating since my Social Security card, my license, credit cards and numerous other cards were in it.

I recently lost my husband of 44 years and this was just another blow to my life. I was standing in the parking lot of the Hy-Vee, crying my eyes out, when a sweet little employee ran out, threw her arms around me, and told me how she had just lost one of her grandparents and knew how I felt. Then another lady came up to me and hugged me and even offered to give me money if I needed it.

I would like to thank these two wonderful ladies. They showed such kindness and generosity of spirit.

The people who found my change purse went on a shopping spree at Kmart, Walmart and Casey’s, but for every dishonest person, I found out there are at least two angels. God bless you.
