Paul Ryan to visit Cedar Rapids next week

DES MOINES – Iowa continues to be a hotbed of presidential campaigning this election cycle.

Moments before President Barack Obama was to deliver remarks to a campaign rally at Living History Farms in Urbandale on Saturday afternoon, aides to the Romney-Ryan GOP ticket announced that Ryan, a Wisconsin congressman who was nominated as Romney’s vice presidential running mate during this week’s Republican National Convention, was slated to return to Iowa for campaign events on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ryan isscheduled to campaign in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday evening, and in the Des Moines area on Wednesday morning. No further details were available, but were expected to be released soon. The events will be open to the public.

Ryan previously made a stop at the Iowa State Fair in August.
