Members of the public are invited to apply to serve on the University of Northern Iowa presidential search committee.

The committee will lead the search for a successor to UNI President Ben Allen, who will retire by next summer. At a meeting this week, the state Board of Regents approved the make-up of the search committee, which will include three members of the public appointed by the board.

The board seeks nominations to fill those spots. Members of the public can submit their names, contact information and a brief summary (250 words or less) of their qualifications. Nominations are due by Sept. 5, and the board is expected to approve committee membership at a meeting Sept. 12.

Nominations can be sent to Marcia Brunson, policy and operations officer with the regents office, by email at mbruns@iastate.edu.
