I just saw the film “2016: Obama’s America.” This film definitely is in the “outstanding” category. While the event accounts were collected by and the film is narrated by Dinesh D’Souza (president of King’s College, New York City), the film has neither Democrat nor Republican intonations. Rather, it serves as a wake-up call for the United States and all of our citizens.

The director and production staff are respected filmmakers and the film’s information is well documented. I give this documentary “5 Stars,” as a “must see” for all Americans.

‘Obama’s America’ is a wake-up call
  1. The film is really nothing more than propaganda and full of misinformation, opinion and speculation. Many of the facts that do exist are manipulated for political purposes. Here are just a few:
_ D’Souza rightly argues that the national debt has risen to $16 trillion under Obama. But he never mentions the explosion of debt that occurred under Obama’s predecessor, Republican George W. Bush, nor the 2008 global financial crisis that provoked a shock to the U.S. economy.
_ D’Souza says Obama is “weirdly sympathetic to Muslim jihadists” in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He does not mention that Obama ordered the raid that killed Osama bin Laden and the drone strikes that have killed dozens of other terrorists in the region.
_D’Souza wrongly claims that Obama wants to return control of the Falkland Islands from Britain to Argentina. The U.S. refused in April to endorse a final declaration on Argentina’s claim to the islands at the Summit of the Americas, provoking criticism from other Latin American nations.
_D’Souza says Obama has “done nothing” to impede Iran’s nuclear ambitions, despite the severe trade and economic sanctions his administration has imposed on that country to halt its suspected nuclear program. Obama opposes a near-term military strike on Iran, either by the U.S. or Israel, although he says the U.S. will never tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran.
_ D’Souza says Obama removed a bust of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill from the Oval Office because Churchill represented British colonialism. White House curator William Allman said the bust, which had been on loan, was already scheduled to be returned before Obama took office. Another bust of Churchill is on display in the president’s private residence, the White House says.

It’s a work of fiction. It’s only purpose to further divide the nation.

  2. So it is not opinionated at all? No partian opinions? No conjecture as to what things will be like in 2016?

Maybe someone should make a documentary called “2016: Romney’s America.” I’m sure it would be totally neutral just like the film you saw.

If someone did make a movie called “2016: Romney’s America” would you go see it? Would you believe all of it? If Michael Moore produced it?

  3. “This film definitely is in the “we’re out of our minds” category.

Imagine having enough money to put a couple million into a piece of propaganda like that and still live well.

  4. I think one of the major reactions to this documentary is that it uncovers things about Obama that should have been vetted by the Main Stream Media long before the election of 2008. It does NOT bash Obama, it merely brings to the surface how this man views “Our” America. It’s too bad that the facts tend to get in the way of some of the “great unwashed”. You get exactly the government that you vote for. Be prepared to live with it.

    • But it doesn’t bring to the surface how President Obama views “Your” America or “My” America. What it brings to the surface is how D’Souza perceives the President views America. And as D’Souza is a regressive ideologue it can hardly be viewed as anything other than an attempt to further divide this country. It is nothing more than more deceitful propaganda.

  5. This film is no better than the garbage that is put out by Michael Moore for the liberal minded. I wouldn’t go to see any of the political films from either party even if somebody paid me to watch it.

  6. Every review of this “film” has stated that the point of view is from the extreme right. That D’Souza is nothing more than a right wing version of Michael Moore and that it should not be taken as anything more than the editorial view of Faux News which we all know is “Fair and Balanced?”

  7. It is amazing that people are willing to vote to elect a President they have no idea of who he is, or what has shaped his values, and ambitions.
CHARLIE ROSE: I don’t know what Barack Obama’s worldview is.

TOM BROKAW: No, I don’t, either.

ROSE: I don’t know how he really sees where China is.

BROKAW: We don’t know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.

ROSE: I don’t really know. And do we know anything about the people who are advising him?

BROKAW: Yeah, it’s an interesting question

But rather that look at something with an open mind, it seems preferable to double down on ignorance than actually start the learning process

    • For anyone who is interested, the above cited interview is dated Oct 30, 2008.
Antony, keep up the good work

      • Yep, I noticed that too. Even before Mr. Obama was elected to the presidency, and at the height of Mr. McCain’s desperate attempt to position himself as an expert in foreign policy (which he most certainly is not).

Somebody needs to note that Mr. D’Souza, despite his academic position, is a long-time apologist for neo-conservative matters.

In addition, the assumption by some commenters that those who deplore Mr. D’Souza’s position automatically embrace Michael Moore’s position is simply ridiculous—and completely unfounded.

  8. “‘Obama’s America’ is a wake-up call”

It surely is! It’s a wake-up call that some people are gullible enough to believe anything. Roadrunner cartoons are also representations of historical events.
