A Marion man is accused of trying to disarm a sheriff's deputy of his Taser during an altercation outside of a bar in Alburnett.
Ronald R. Clark, 48, of 3363 Schmickle Rd., has been charged with disarming a peace officer, four counts of assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. One of the deputies suffered a laceration to his head during the incident and was treated and released from a hospital.
Deputies responded around 12:03 a.m. Sunday to Mahoney's, 107 N. Main Ave., for a report of an intoxicated person starting fights and refusing to leave. Witnesses identified Clark as the person who had been causing the disturbance, but resisted arrest and became combative, authorities said.
Sheriff Brian Gardner said Clark tried unsuccessfully to disarm Deputy Adam Munier of his Taser. Munier received a cut to his head during the scuffle when his head made contact with Clark's head.
Clark later kicked Munier, Deputy Casey Sanders and Deputy Chad Watkinson while he was being placed under arrest, according to court documents.
Clark was transported to the Linn County Jail and was later released on bond.
