To my surprise, I got about 15 minutes of one-on-one interview time with Iowa senior cornerback Micah Hyde last week at the Big Ten media days.

I was primarily interesed in Hyde’s background as a high school football player in Fostoria, Ohio, and how he wound up at Iowa. Hyde was a defensive back at Fostoria, but he also was a record-breaking quarterback, a kickoff-returner, a punt-returner, a placekicker, and a punter. He made five field goals one season. In one game he threw for two touchdowns, rushed for two touchdowns, and kicked two field goals.

I didn’t know I would using this interview as blog audio when I recorded it, and the sound is a bit rough, but after hearing the tape I thought “Why not?”
