One hurt in Iowa City motorcycle crash

Several departments called to scene; crash involved car, motorcycle

A man was rushed to the hospital after a motorcycle crash near downtown Iowa City late Friday morning.

Shortly before 11 a.m., emergency crews rushed to the scene of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle near the intersection of W. Burlington and S. Madison streets.

It's not immediately clear how the crash happened.  The Iowa City fire department, police department, Johnson County ambulance service and University of Iowa police all responded to the crash.

Several witnesses were waiting to be interviewed by police as of 11:30 a.m.
