The city of Marion issued a temporary watering ban Friday morning, urging residents to conserve water after one of the city's wells failed.
The city said a repair crew was on site, but that there is no timeline to get the well running again.
The Marion Water Department called the temporary watering ban a precaution to conserve water. It is asking residents to avoid watering established lawns and avoid unnecessary water usage until the ban is lifted.
Marion gets its water from 6 deep wells and four pumping stations and pumps an average of 3 million gallons of water daily.
